Today Pastor Matt continues the Thrones series, which studies lessons learned from some of the lesser-known kings in the Old Testament, with a message about Josiah.
For those who saw last week, about King Joash, you will remember a story about how a king went the wrong way when the person who was a good influence on him died, and he became a bad king because he had no direct relationship with God. This week, we will see a different story in Josiah, who became king at the age of 8 when his father was assassinated. Josiah, even without good parents or a good teacher like Joash had, became a good king, known for destroying false idols and rebuilding the temple so that his people would worship only the Lord.
